Historic Gift Making

Kreische Brewery and Monument Hill State Historic Sites will host a gift and toymaking program on Saturday, Nov. 30, and Sunday, Dec. 1, from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. Celebrate the holiday season with handson living history activities and learn about Victorian toys and crafts, like cloth dolls, Jacob’s ladders, and gilded walnuts. Create your own special gifts to take home and share with friends and family. Activities are included with admission, while supplies last. St. Anne’s Society Met in November

The meeting of the KJZT St. Anne’s Society No. 10 was called to order at 1 p.m. on Nov. 19 at St. John’s Education Building. President Mary Jane Toddy opened the meeting with prayers for all living members and their families and led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance. There were six members and one guest present.

Kocian, Schobel Married

Koltin Kocian and Brooke Schobel were married Nov. 16, at The Ice Plant in La Grange at 4 p.m. Brooke is the daughter of Eric and Aimee Schobel and granddaughter of John and Mary Grounds and Franklin and Patsy Schobel. Koltin is the son of Wayne Kocian and Andy and Natasha Kollman and the grandson of Kenneth and Denise Weishuhn, Fred and Karen Kollman and Lucille Koehl and the late Emil Koehl. The officiant was Pastor David Sweet. The couple stood among arrangements of white roses during the ceremony and lit a unity candle together. Each table was decorated with white sheet linen and white roses. After the ceremony, guests grazed at a snack table of various cheeses, crackers, meats and fruit. A chicken fried steak meal was catered along with peach cobbler and Blue Bell Vanilla ice cream. The couple cut an Italian Cream cake for all to enjoy and DJ Connection provided the music for the dance. Brooke is a graduate of Round Top-Carmine and currently continuing her education at Texas A&M while Koltin is employed at LCRA. The happy couple resides in Ellinger.
