Community Prayer
Kreische Brewery and Monument Hill State Historic Sites will host a gift and toymaking program on Saturday, Nov. 30, and Sunday, Dec. 1, from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. Celebrate the holiday season with handson living history activities and learn about Victorian toys and crafts, like cloth dolls, Jacob’s ladders, and gilded walnuts. Create your own special gifts to take home and share with friends and family. Activities are included with admission, while supplies last. A multi-church supported Community Prayer Gathering for La Grange will be held Sunday, Dec. 1 at 6 p.m. inside the La Grange ISD Performing Arts Center (located across the street from Sonic). Join as we pray for one another, our community, our nation, and our world. Everyone is encouraged to attend.
Christmas Fest
The 40th annual Carmine Christmas Fest will be held on Sunday, Dec. 1 at Carmine Hall from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Santa and Mrs. Clause come to town in a fire truck. Beef stew and grilled burger meals and to-go meals will be available as well as vendors for unique Christmas gifts and a children’s musical at 1:30 p.m. Enjoy free Polar Express rides. Join them to start the Christmas season.
American Legion
The next regular meetings of the American Legion Quade-Werchan Post No. 338 and Ladies Auxiliary are scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 5. The meetings will begin at 6:30 p.m. at their facilities located at 1503 N. State Highway 237 Round Top. Prior to the meetings, the post and auxilary will celebrate the end of the year and the upcoming holiday season with a social hour beginning at 5:30 p.m. followed by a catered meal. Reservations for the catered meal are strongly recommended.
There’s more A total of 42 beautiful fresh wreaths will be available for purchase in front of the Hospice Brazos Valley (HBV) office located at 1048 N. Jefferson across from Bugle Boy on Dec. 6 from 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. and on Dec. 7 from 8:30-10:30 a.m. HBV provides pro-bono services to those who qualify but cannot pay so funds raised are to help offset that cost. Free Kids Cooking Class
Calling kids ages 5-12: come learn to bake Christmas Star cookies with New Life Methodist Church on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 10 am - noon in our “Bake Through the Bible” Program. Limited to six kids, they will have fun learning baking techniques, safety protocols, cookie decorating and enjoy a creative and engaging environment in our kitchen. Kiddos will take cookies home to share, a star cookie cutter, the recipe and make new friends. Plus mom and dad can have a couple of hours to run errands. Christmas Adult Crafternoon
Christmas Adult Crafternoon at the Library: join the Fayette Public Library on Thursday, Dec. 12, from 4:30-6 p.m. for a relaxing Christmas afternoon with festive music and cross-stitching. Make and take home a beautiful Christmas cross-stitch craft for your home or give it as a gift. Hot coffee, cocoa, and tea will be provided. This is a registration-only event, with 12 spots available. Library programs are free and open to the public, and all materials will be provided.
