Trail of Lights Returns For 10-Night Run in La Grange

Santa Claus is coming to Kreische Brewery and Monument Hill State Historic Sites to celebrate the season in true German Texan fashion. The Sites’ annual holiday extravaganza, Trail of Lights, will open on Friday, Dec. 13 and run through Sunday, Dec. 22. During all ten nights, guests can explore the lighted trails, pose for pictures at themed light displays, and enjoy the festive atmosphere. Special Festival Nights (Dec. 13, 14, 20, 21, and 22) will offer an expanded holiday experience with live entertainment, historical interpretation, family crafts, and more.

Structure Fire Tuesday in Winchester

Tuesday evening around 7:33 p.m. the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting a structure fire on FM 153 near Pilchick Loop. The Winchester Fire Department was notified and responded to the scene. Upon arrival it was reported a trailer and garage were fully involved with a grass fire spreading toward FM 153 due to the north winds. Deputies Chase Cedar, Christopher Stansberry, Sgt. Ryan Meagher and Fayette County EMS Medic Unit 1 and EMS 3 Supervisor also responded to the scene. Smithville Volunteer Fire Department also responded to the scene for assistance. The fire was extinguished and brought under control’with no reported Injuries. Emergency Management Coordinator Angela Hahn and Chief Deputy Randy Noviskie made contact with the Red Cross to provide assistance for the family who suffered a total loss.

Feed The Need

Feed the Need, a non-profit organization whose mission is to feed people physically and spiritually, will provide free burgers every Monday at 6:30 p.m. in La Grange at the south east corner of the courthouse square. Everyone is welcome.

Fayette Co. Country Music Club to Host Christmas Opry Monday, Celebrating the Late Arthur Bosque

The Fayette County Country Music Club will host their Christmas Opry on Monday, Dec. 16 at the KC Hall in La Grange. The show starts at 7 p.m. and the doors will open at 5:30 p.m. Admission is $8. This Opry will be dedicated to and celebrating the life of Arthur Bosque who was one of our December entertainers. Entertainers will be the Dujka Brothers, Dennis Stryk, and Allison Crowsen and Santa Claus.

Kids Garden Class

The Round Top Family Library will hold a Junior Master Gardener Kids Garden Class with teaching team Suzanne Ellis, Terri Russell, and Lou Ann Philips. Kids will learn the art and science of gardening. Class is held on Wednesdays from 4-5:30 p.m. Registration is required. Email the library at info@ilovetoread.org or call (979) 249-2700 for details.
