The Sacred Heart Altar Society members met on Monday, Dec. 2, in the Msgr. Harry Mazurkiewicz Parish Center. The meeting was opened with a prayer followed by the standard reports provided by the secretary, treasurer and assistant treasurer. Two thank you cards were read to members in appreciation for remembrances received. Fourteen ladies attended the meeting.

The Fifteenth Annual Central Texas Beekeepers School will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at Brenham High School in Brenham. The school is open to the public for anyone interested in keeping bees or who wants to learn about bees.

Feed the Need, a non-profit organization whose mission is to feed people physically and spiritually, will provide free burgers every Monday at 6:30 p.m. in La Grange at the south east corner of the courthouse square. Everyone is welcome.

Round Top Festival Institute Founder and Artistic Director, James Dick, will be performing on Monday, Feb. 10 at 7:30 p.m.

The Juneteenth Committee is excited to invite the community to the 4th Annual “Unity in the Community Celebration” on Jan. 18 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. This year’s celebration will begin with the 4th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. March, which will start at the Fayette Public Library at 11:30 a.m. and make its way to the Downtown La Grange Square.

Peggy Supak stepped down as Fayette County Attorney on New Year’s Day after 20 years in office. She’s not going far, though: just down the hall.
