James and Grace McRobert of Ardrossan, Scotland, are delighted to announce the engagement of their daughter, Rosie Mary McRobert, to Clayton Crysel, son of Stacey Allen of La Grange, and Grady Crysel of Eagle Lake. Clayton was lovingly raised by Forrest Allen of Mt. Juliet, Tenn. Rosie, born in Glasgow and raised in Ardrossan, Scotland, is a talented technical researcher and writer specializing in language. Clayton, born in Corsicana, grew up in various locations, including Wiesbaden, Germany; Nashville, Tenn.; and La Grange. He shares a passion for language research and is currently employed at Dairy Farmers of America. The couple is planning a wedding in 2025, with details of the date and location to be announced.

The AMEN Food Pantry wants to thank all in the community that provided the food assistance for the month of December. This would include all that provided monetary donations, food drives and the AMEN Gardens.

Todd and Robin Nelson, owners of Nelson’s Carports, were the recipients of the American Flag put out by NSDAR. The flag given to the Nelsons was to replace the current flag flying over their business located at 2549 FM 949, Cat Spring. The flag that was given by the Grant Program and presented was a flag that was flown over The DAR Continental Congress Hall in Washington DC. This was important to both the DAR and the Nelsons. The Nelsons have competed in a BBQ Cook-Off in front of the DAR Continental Congress Hall. They were very familiar with the location where the flag was previously flown and took great pride in the display of the American Flag and its meaning. Thieves who broke into the John Miller home several miles south of La Grange on the old Mullins Prairie Road made with off with a variety of items and left the interior in a topsy-turvy state. The burglary was believed to have occurred between 3 and 6 p.m. when the Millers were away shopping. A color TV, roaster oven, blender, sewing machine, slide and movie projectors, two cameras, two radios, a typewriter, an electric shaver and a small amount of cash were taken.
