Record Visits Wieliczka Salt Mine
Gary Bucek, President of The Polka Lovers Club of Texas Museum and his wife, Carol, Secretary of the organization visited the Wieliczka Salt Mine recently and took the latest publication of the Fayette County Record. The salt mine is located a short distance from Krakow, Poland and is 1000’ underground. There are 205 miles of galleries on nine levels. The immense salt deposit was first mined around 1290. The Buceks were on a five country European Tour hosted by Edita and Chris Rybak. Forty-three regional people participated in the eleven-day tour. Rybaks are in the process of organizing a May 2025, 16-day adventure to six European Countries.
