An 18-wheeler caught fire at Cal Maine Foods in Flatonia Tuesday, Jan. 21. Flatonia Fire and Rescue got the call around 5:50 p.m. Flatonia Police reported that no other structures or vehicles were in danger, and there were no injuries. Flatonia firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze.

A barn burned to the ground in the Warda area Monday morning, Jan. 20.

Blinn College’s livestock judging team recently placed sixth at the highly competitive Cattlemen’s Congress in Oklahoma City, Okla. with 4,470 points. Blinn’s Grant Kubala, of Schulenburg, placed seventh overall, finishing ninth in cattle, 10th in cattle reasons, and 11th in reasons.

The Turtle Wing Foundation is proud to announce a new initiative aimed at fostering inclusivity and enhancing community support: the distribution of sensory bags to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department and Fayette County EMS. These sensory bags are thoughtfully designed to assist first responders in better supporting individuals with sensory processing differences, including those on the autism spectrum, during emergencies.
