Rotary Organizes Jan. 30 Event for Wildfire Relief

Texans who remember the Bastrop wildfire on 2011 get flashbacks every time they see the news reports from California. Local Rotarians will give them an opportunity to help with a “pop-up fundraiser” Thursday, Jan. 30, at Mac’s Daqs in downtown La Grange.

Schulenburg Police arrested a Georgetown man for public intoxication after allegedly causing a ruckus at The Texan Convenience Store. According to a report from the Schulenburg Police Department, officers responded to The Texan on Thursday, Jan.

Acclaimed Piano Duo to Perform at Ross Gallery

La Grange Firm Celebrates New Ownership

The La Grange accounting firm of Schneider, Frazee, and Matocha recently sold to CKO CPAs and Advisors of Sugar Land. The company held a ribbon cutting Friday, Jan. 17, at the offices at 500 W. Travis St.

Blacksmithing Exposition Returns to LG This Month

Plans for the 4th annual Texas Blacksmithing Exposition & the Hume L. Baker Texas Antique Gas Engine Reunion have been finalized. The events will be held January 24-25 at the Texas Czech Heritage & Cultural Center’s Czech Village grounds in La Grange, beginning at noon on Friday for early exhibits and vendors, and opens at 9 a.m. on Saturday. This event continues to grow and we are reorganizing this year to make the event even better with more demos and booths.

County Official Selected for Leadership 254 Program

The Texas Association of Counties (TAC) has selected Judge Kyle Hartmann, Justice of the Peace Fayette County Pct. 1, to receive a scholarship and participate in Leadership 254, its leadership development program for county officials.
