Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of Feb. 16-22.

The John Everett Chapter, DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution), and the Robert Rankin Chapter No. 62, SAR (Sons of the American Revolution) presented Zachary and Roxanne Zahradnik, 1208 Struss Lane, Columbus, with the American Flag Display Certificates for March 2025.

The Brenham Chorale, under the direction of Dr. Joanne Clark, will welcome springtime on Monday April 7 at 7 p.m. with a concert titled “Alleluia for Spring.” The concert, which is free and open to the public, will be held at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church at 2310 Airline Drive in Brenham, with a reception following the event.

A resident from Round Top addressed the Fayette County Commissioners Court last week about the Round Top Precinct Courthouse. “I wanted to thank you guys for paying attention to the courthouse situation,” said Louis Sellers of Round Top.

Fayette County Judge Dan Mueller has issued an emergency burn ban effective immediately as of Saturday, March 15, at 3:15 p.m. Under the authority of Texas Local Government Code, Section 352 and the County’s emergency burn ban protocols, outdoor burning is prohibited and violations are subject to criminal penalties.
