Library Hosting Preschool Egg Hunt

Get your baskets and cameras ready. Join the Fayette Public Library for an extra special Alpacas and Eggs Storytime on Wednesday, April 16 from 10:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. They will read two books and have a fun egg hunt.

Opry to Feature Paul Schlesinger April 21

The Fayette County Country Music Club will host their monthly Opry on Monday, April 21 at the Knights of Columbus Hall in La Grange. The show starts at 7 p.m. and the doors will open at 5:30 p.m. Admission is $8.

In order for Second Chance Emporium staff to catch up on the processing of donations, Second Chance will not be accepting donations April 7-21. The donations drop-off area will re-open on Tuesday, April 22.

Candidate Forum

Round Top Community Church hosted a candidate forum for the upcoming Round Top-Carmine ISD School Board election. Pastor Matthew Diehl moderated the discussion. Pictured are (from left) candidate Bryan Kirts, Pastor Diehl and candidate Kyle Fricke. Kirts and Fricke are vying for the Place 5 seat on the school board. Three other candidates are running unopposed: Owen Massey for Place 1, Dusty Bernshausen for Place 2 and Bryn Behnke for Place 7. Registered voters within the school district are eligible to vote on May 3. Election day and early voting take place at American Legion Hall, 1503 N State Highway 237 Round Top, TX 78954. Early voting times are Tuesday, April 22, 2025, through Friday, April 25, 2025, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, April 28, 2025, through Tuesday, April 29, 2025, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Second Chance Donates to Pottery Program

Second Chance Emporium (SCE) recently donated $10,000 to the Mary Gray Foundation (MGF). Monies granted will fund the MGF Pottery Program which will include setting up a clay studio and the purchase of equipment, tools, clay and glazes. The mission of the organization is to carry on the legacy of service to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and related conditions.
