Exciting Activities Await at Senior Connections

Senior Connections is the gathering place for active seniors in Fayette County, Colorado County, and Lavaca County. Everyone aged 55 and up are welcome to our Schulenburg, Weimar, and Flatonia locations. Doors are open from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. on program days. Feel free to drop by anytime.

Funeral Home in Middle of Big Expansion

A big expansion and renovation is underway at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home in La Grange. Koenig-Belvill president John Belvill said the business has experienced incredible growth since he purchased the funeral home 19 years ago.

A Musical Petting Zoo

The top young musicians from around the world who are staying at Festival Hill in Round Top this summer put on a special animal-themed concert for kids Tuesday. Afterwards, in keeping with the theme, the young attendees were invited onto the stage for a Instrument Petting Zoo, where the kids could touch, and, in some cases, try their hand at playing the concert instruments.

More About the Motorist Arrested in La Grange for Threatening Lawmakers

The Record obtained the arrest report for the man stopped in La Grange on Saturday who allegedly threatened lawmakers in Austin. The report stated that Troopers Alba Molina and Louis Gabler were patrolling SH 71 near Plum when they received information from Texas Department of Public Safety about a blue 2017 Audi A6 traveling west towards Austin.

Bingo Sunday in Ledbetter

The next Bingo in Ledbetter will be this Sunday, June 15. Play is from 2 to 4 p.m. with the doors opening at 1:15 p.m. Cost is five dollars per card, which covers all games and prizes. Chips, snacks, and drinks are available for a donation. WELCA Salad Supper

“Let Freedom Ring” was the theme for the annual Martin Luther Lutheran Women of the ELCA Salad Supper and Program held on Wednesday, June 4 at 6:30 p.m. with 41 persons in attendance.
