Cowboy Church Planning Expansion
The Stray Gathering Cowboy Church is in the process of purchasing a parcel of land for expansion. They are very excited for this acquisition. Serious planning will begin soon for the growth of this wonderful little church.
If you would like to find out more make plans to attend church on Sunday, June 29. That will be testimony Sunday followed by “Sunday Vittles”. Bring a favorite dish to share and find out what country hospitality is all about. Coffee and doughnuts begin at 9:30 a.m. with worship service at 10 a.m. After the worship service stay and enjoy those “Sunday Vittles.”
Boehnke Passes
One of the founders of the Muldoon Museum, Angeline Idella Boehnke passed away. She was 89 years old. She and husband Wiley Boehnke lived in Flatonia, but were very active in the Muldoon community.
Angeline passed away Saturday, May 24, at her home. She was a graduate of Flatonia High School in 1954, and received a B.S. Degree from Southwest Texas State College in San Marcos. She taught at Taft for three years prior to taking over and teaching in the Homemaking Department in the Flatonia where many of the area girls had her for a teacher.
She taught for 32 years in Flatonia before her retirement. Angeline was married to her husband Wiley Boehnke for 59 years. She had one daughter, Tracey, and one grandson, Micah.
Services for Angeline were held on Saturday, June 7 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Flatonia with burial in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Flatonia with Father Samuel officiating.
Forsythe Memorial
Alton (Al) Gene Forsythe was laid to rest with a graveside memorial service on Saturday, June 7, at Pitman Cemetery. A group of family and friends honored Al with kind words and wonderful memories. Al was the son of Doris June and Eugene Forsythe of Muldoon. He was born in La Grange and grew up in Houston and began a career in the airline industry.
Upon retirement, Al settled in Muldoon to care for his parents and their family home. He cared for his parents till their passing. He is survived by his sister, Molly Forsythe Stegall and Hank along with their four children and their families.
Rain
Muldoon has been experiencing rain showers almost every day. A lot of the showers have been light, but there have been a few that have been stronger with lots of lighting. This is a great way to go into the summer. The last round of showers has even brought cooler temperatures, but the humidity stays high.
