Camp Invention, a nationally recognized, nonprofit summer enrichment camp program, is coming to La Grange Elementary School the week of June 9. A program of the National Inventors Hall of Fame in partnership with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, Camp Invention challenges children in grades K-6 to tap into their natural curiosity and use their creativity to solve problems.

La Grange Bus Drivers, Maintenance Workers Honored for Service Bus drivers and maintenance folks are the unsung heroes of schools. From getting kids to and from campus safely to making sure students have a clean, safe place to learn – they are a vital part of the educational experience.

A county official confirmed last week that the computer network issues the County experienced back in March were indeed the result of a cyber attack. Fayette County Emergency Management Coordinator Angela Hahn told the Record last week that investigators believe someone tried to stage a ransom attack on the County’s computer systems.

A Fayette County Grand Jury indicted 45-year-old Carlos Vera-Flores of Fayetteville for the capital murder of his wife, Viviana Ortiz Zuniga. The indictment states that on or about April 3, Vera-Flores killed Ortiz Zuniga “by unknown manner and means.” The indictment goes on to state that Vera-Flores committed the murder while kidnapping or attempting to kidnap his wife.
