Holy Cross Annual Church Picnic
Holy Cross Lutheran Annual Church picnic will be held Sunday, Aug. 31. Mark your calendars for this fun event. Brisket, pork and chicken BBQ will be sold at the pits beginning at 9:30 a.m. The ladies will be selling sides of noodles, beans, potato salad and cold slaw. If you would like to preorder sides please call Cindy at (713) 628-1056. They are accepting donations for the live auction. Contact Brian at (979) 9663761 to donate auction items.
Wendish Fest Will Be Held in September Wendish Fest will be held on Sept. 28 at the Serbin Picnic Grounds. The drive-thru Wendish meal line opens at 9:30 a.m. with the dine in line opening at 10:30 a.m. Tickets are only available at the festival. The Wendish Museum will be open from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., bird wedding presented by St. Paul students is at 11:30 a.m. There will be a live auction of the coffee cakes at 12:45 p.m. and live music by Jodie Mikula Orchestra from 1-4 p.m. Included in this free event will be kids train rides, sausage stuffing demo, washer pitching, noodle making, Wendish Easter Egg, blacksmithing, wine making and cross cut saw demonstrations. South Lee County VFD 45th Annual BBQ
The South Lee County Volunteer Fire Department will have their 45th Annual BBQ on Saturday, Aug. 9 at the Serbin Picnic Grounds. Beef and pork BBQ will be available to-go at the pits from 4:30 p.m. Beef and pork plates with all the trimmings will be served from 5-7:30 p.m. All plates and beverages are free will donation. There will be a silent auction from 3-6 p.m. The Blue Sunsets Band will play from 3:30-6:30 p.m., Barrel train rides for the kids will run from 5-8:30 p.m. The live auction will begin at 6:30 p.m. All proceeds go towards updating fire equipment.
St. Paul Serbin Accepting Applications for Enrollment

Little Free Library
Holy Cross in Warda has a Little Free Library for area residents to use. There are selections of adults and childrens books and puzzles. The library is located under the covered roof by the fellowship hall entrance on the far end of the building.
Sewing Circle
The Sewing Circle meets each Thursday from 9 a.m.noon in the old parish hall at Holy Cross in Warda. (this is around the back side of the church). No experience is necessary and you do not have to be a church member to join this fun group. Contact the church office at (979) 2423333 if you have any questions.
Game Day at Holy Cross The next Game Day at Holy Cross in Warda will be held Thursday August 21 from noon-2 p.m. A light lunch is served. There is no cost to attend and everyone is welcome. Games of bingo and dominoes are offered.
Holy Cross Services
Services at Holy Cross Lutheran are Sunday at 9 a.m. Bible Class and Sunday school follows the morning service.
Sunday School Promotion Sunday is Aug. 17.

The ladies at Holy Cross will be collecting a door offering on Sunday August 10 for school supplies for students attending Immanuel Lutheran in Giddings.
