New Arts Initiative Launches in La Grange

The City of La Grange and the Greater Fayette Community Foundation (GFCF) are proud to announce a new partnership aimed at enhancing the arts and cultural landscape of La Grange. Together, they are launching the La Grange Arts & Culture Fund, a dedicated initiative designed to support local artists, enrich cultural experiences, and expand access to the arts throughout the community.

Parents as Teachers Celebrates ‘Groovin into Greatness’ Graduation

On Thursday, June 5, Parents as Teachers of Rural South-Central Texas hosted its 2025 Groovin’ into Greatness Graduation and Awards Ceremony at the Schulenburg Elementary School cafetorium. The event began with a joyful parade of graduates, setting the tone for a heartfelt celebration filled with recognition, student song performances, and the presentation of PAT family awards.

Urban Graduates With Honors from A&M

Amanda Marie Urban graduated Summa Cum Laude from Texas A&M University on Thursday May 8, 2025 at the 9 a.m. commencement ceremony held at Reed Area in College Station. Amanda earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and a minor in History. She earned the academic honor of Summa Cum Laude, which is the highest academic honor achievable and awarded. Urban graduated with an overall 4.00 GPA, indicating a grade of an A earned in every class taken. She is a 2022 graduate of La Grange High School. Amanda is the daughter of Milton and Michelle Urban of La Grange.
