In August, the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) John Everett Chapter of Columbus, and the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) Robert Rankin Chapter of Houston, are recognizing Robert and Sandy Chaloupka for proper display of the US Flag. The flag is proudly displayed in front of their residence at 210 Oak Cluster, Columbus.

Robert has special feelings for the US Flag. His father was wounded on D-Day 1944. He had several family members serving during WWII. All family members made it home safe after the war.

Robert has been retired for 10 years and has been a very important member of the Columbus Food Pantry. Monthly, he receives inventory delivered by the Food Bank in Victoria, and provides guidance to volunteers to ensure that the inventory is accurate, properly maintained and available.
