Local Historic Sites Seeking To Expand Volunteer Team

Kreische Brewery & Monument Hill State Historic Sites is seeking to expand their volunteer team and welcome anyone with passions for history, nature, community service, and fellowship. Interested community members can learn more at the Sites’ Volunteer Open House on Thursday evening, Sept.
Longtime volunteer Greg Walker leads a tour through the ruins of Kreische Brewery. Docents learn about the sites’ history and then retell it to visitors in tours throughout the grounds.

Fayette County Hay Show Held on Opening Night of the Fair

The Schulenburg Young Farmers held their 58th annual Hay Show on Wednesday,Aug. 27 and Thursday,Aug. 28 in conjunction with the Fayette County Fair in La Grange. Judging took place Wednesday at the Emily Fritsch Pavilion at the Fairgrounds. The hay show sale was held Thursday night. Hay produced in Fayette County in the spring and summer of 2025 was eligible.

Beyond Blue Exhibit Opens at Ross Gallery

Arts for Rural Texas (ARTS) and Professional Artists of Central Texas (PACT) present Beyond Blue, a group exhibition featuring the work of 15 artists. The exhibition opens with a reception on Saturday, Sept.
