Art Stroll is This Saturday in La Grange

La Grange Main Street will host the 4th annual La Grange Art Stroll on Saturday, September 12 from 3-7 pm on the courthouse square. Over 15 artisans will have their work on display in locations throughout downtown La Grange. Enjoy art and shopping while you stroll through downtown. And if you get hungry, stop by one of our great restaurants or check out one of the new food trucks.

Fayette County Go-Texan BBQ Champs

The BYOB Cooking Team of La Grange (including Charles Schulz, Ron Voss Jr, and Timmy Machala) were crowned Grand Champs at the Fayette County Fair BBQ Cook-Off Sunday. By virtue of their win, they qualify to represent Fayette County as the Go Texan champs at next year’s Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo cook off. The BYOB team members, center, were joined by Go Texan officials at the conclusion of Sunday’s awards in La Grange. We’ll have more BBQ winners from the fair cook off in the newspaper next week. Tejas Hosting Family Fun Day Sunday

Round Top Library Fundraiser is Saturday

Saturday the Round Top Family Library is hosting their annual “Books, Boots and BBQ” fundraiser from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at the Round Top Rifle Hall. The event is held even years to thank the community and volunteers for their support.

Emily Shaw of La Grange had corovavirus earlier this year but after recovering she made the decision to donate plasma, which can help other people trying to recover from the disease. “Just one donation can save four people’s lives,” Shaw said. “I don’t think enough people know the importance of giving plasma after having COVID.”

Karisch Family Participates In Fayette Co. Fair Livestock Show

The Karisch Clan participated in the Fayette County Fair Livestock Show on Sunday, Sept. 6. Rheagan had another good day in the ring, bringing home the Champion Intermediate Showmanship buckle. Not to be outdone, Rheagan’s father brought home the jackpot Adult Showmanship win. Additionally, the cattle did well. Diva brought home Reserve Champion American Heifer and Scarlett was Champion Exotic Heifer. Ree was a class winner and Isabella was second in class. Rilan also got to get some ring practice in by showing Isabella in Pee Wee Showmanship.
