Tejas Hosting Family Fun Day Sunday

Tejas Hosting Family Fun Day Sunday

If you’re looking for some great fun activities for the entire family; look no further. The annual Tejas Family Fun Day is Sunday, Sept. 13, from 2 to 7 p.m. This event is an opportunity for everyone to come out and enjoy all the fun things that Tejas Camp and Retreat Center has to offer.

There will be zip lines, a big three-person skyline swing, Texas sledding, a lake with water slides and, of course, a large pool with a lazy river. You and your family will not lack for fun things to do, all in a wonderful relaxing atmosphere. If you prefer a more low-key day, there are plenty of great areas to sit and relax in a rocking chair, park bench or along the lake front to enjoy watching others or just visiting with each other. The camp is large, so social distancing will be easy to practice.

In addition to all the fun activities offered this day, there will be food for all the guests to enjoy as well. This is something that Tejas offers, at no charge, once a year so that everyone in the area can come out to enjoy themselves, spend time with their families and learn more about the camp and all it has to offer.

Tejas is a premiere Christian retreat center located at 1038 Private Road 2191 in Giddings. This is near CR 220, and there is signage if your coming from Hwy 77.

Fundraiser Success

Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Warda wants to send out a big thank you to everyone who came out and bought pork BBQ at their fundraiser last Sunday. The turnout was fantastic. They sold 1,800 lbs. of pork and 40 gallons of BBQ sauce. One couple coming through the drive-through commented, “We drove all the way from Dallas to get some good Warda Church BBQ.” Another buyer said, “This is so well-organized, but then again, I’d expect nothing less from a group of Germans.” The lines moved along well and it was never more than a 15-minute wait. Several people commented on Facebook, as they were eating, that it was delicious.
