SLM News

The Shared Lutheran Ministry of Fayette County (SLM) will offer parking lot services at 9 a.m. in Warrenton on Sept. 20. You are welcome to bring lawn chairs and sit under the trees, distanced from other worshipers. It has been lovely under the huge oaks that time of day. Holy Communion will be offered to those in attendance and for those watching online. You may use bread and wine/grape juice from home or stop by your church to pick up pre-packaged communion elements.

The SLM will still offer worship at noon on Sunday on KTIM radio, 89.1, and it will record worship to be seen on its Facebook page (Shared Lutheran Ministry of Fayette County), YouTube (SLM Worship) and on their website.

The SLM is pleased to welcome Cole McGlynn as its new intern. He and his wife, Amanda, arrived here from North Carolina recently and are getting settled in at the parsonage in Rutersville. After this year, they both plan to be ordained as pastors and serve churches wherever assigned. Cole grew up in Thousand Oaks, California, and attended Luther Seminary in Saint Paul, Minnesota. While in seminary, he worked at a United Methodist Church plant in South Minneapolis, and then while Amanda was on vicarage, he worked at an Episcopal Church. He is excited to finally return to Lutheranism and complete his last requirement before ordination. Both he and Amanda enjoy hiking, training their dogs Cricket and Banjo, cooking and board games. Cole also enjoys fishing, baking bread and brewing his own beer. Welcome to Fayette County, Texas.
