Public Meeting December 9 to Address Expanding Antlerless Deer Season

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department is considering the expansion of the current 4-day antlerless season in 21 counties located in the Post Oak Savannah and South-Central Texas area, which includes Fayette County. The current four-day antlerless season occurs from Thanksgiving Day through the Sunday immediately following Thanksgiving. The proposed expansion would extend antlerless season to 16 days, which would occur from the second Saturday of General Season through the Sunday immediately following Thanksgiving.

Robertson Joins Angus Association

Libby Robertson, Ledbetter, Texas, is a new junior member of the American Angus Association, reports Mark McCully, CEO of the national organization with headquarters in Saint Joseph, Mo. Junior members of the Association are eligible to register cattle in the American Angus Association, participate in programs conducted by the National Junior Angus Association and take part in Association-sponsored shows and other national and regional events.

Serbin LWML Ladies Gather Comfort Items for Orphan Grain Train

The Serbin LWML ladies are collecting items for Orphan Grain Train before Dec. 9. They are specifically collecting new underwear and socks (all sizes/genders), also new or gently used stuffed animals and quilts to give to those in need.
