Bunco Fundraiser

Democratic Party

The Fayette County Democratic Party is hosting a “Meet & Greet” for candidates running for TX-27 and HD-85 seats in the March Primary. Join on Saturday, Jan. 31 from 3-5 p.m. at Best Western, 600 State Hwy. 71, La Grange to turn out Texas Democrats and help build a better Texas together. Court Annunciation No. 1962, La Grange, is once again having its Bunco Fundraiser on Sunday, Feb. 1 at the La Grange KC Hall, 190 S. Brown Street. Registration begins at 1 p.m. with games to begin at 2 p.m. Tickets are $35 each and only 200 tickets will be sold. For tickets, contact Shirley Antosh, Marilyn Kothmann, or Mary Lou Anderle.

AMEN Hours

The AMEN Food Pantry will be open on Monday, Feb. 2 from 9 a.m. - noon and will also be open Thursday, Feb. 5 from 4:30-6 p.m.

There’s more Relay For Life of Fayette County will hold their first meeting for 2026 on Tuesday, Feb. 3 at the Fayette Public Library meeting room beginning at 5:15 p.m. Anyone interested in having a team or being on the committee for this year’s Relay should attend. Relay For Life of Fayette County will be held on April 18, at Leopard Stadium in La Grange. My America, What it Means to Me

The Texas Quilt Museum invites you to share your antique or modern quilt capturing the triumphs, joys, sacrifices, and challenges experienced by our nation. Quilts expressing personal interpretations of America such as concepts of freedom, home, family, appreciation of the land, or its history are welcome. Quilts chosen will be displayed this summer in celebration of the Nation’s 250th Anniversary, and subsequently be featured at the Fall 2026 Houston International Quilt Festival. Entry fee is $25, up to three quilts. Deadline for entry is Monday, Feb. 2. To enter, go to www.TexasQuiltMuseum.org.

Faith Lutheran High School, Warda, will host an informational session for Texas Education Freedom Accounts (TEFA) on Thursday, Feb. 5 at 6:30 p.m. Learn about the Texas School Choice program, see who qualifies, understand the application process, and get all your questions answered.

La Grange Elementary Book Fair

The La Grange Elementary School Book Fair is returning from Feb. 17-23. We’ll kick off the event with Story Book Night on Feb. 17 starting at 4:30 p.m. with the book fair open until 6:30 p.m. Then everyone is invited to browse and shop during “After-School Shopping Hours” on Feb. 18-23 from 4:15 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.This time is perfect for adults, with or without children, to explore the selections. Want to give back directly to students? Teachers have curated classroom wish lists of books they hope to add to their shelves. Visitors can select and purchase these specific titles during the fair to be donated directly to LES classrooms.

Texas Hunter Education Class A hunter education class will be held Monday, Feb. 16 at the Fayette County Gun Club, 5338 N. Highway 77, in La Grange. Weimar Book Club
