Folks on Bluff Had to Boil Their Water for Two Days After Equipment Malfunction
Folks on the bluff who get their water through The Monument Hill Water Control and Improvement District were having a heck of a time this week. Monday residents were informed that “due to a malfunction in the disinfection equipment, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has required the Fayette County WCID Monument Hill MUD public water system, PWS ID TX0750009, to notify all customers to boil their water prior to consumption.” The boil water noticed continued Tuesday morning until finally being lifted Tuesday afternoon at 4:30 p.m.

Fire Saturday at New Liquor Store
Within five minutes of getting a 911 call Saturday night, La Grange police and firemen responded to the new Spiked Liquor Beverage Barn at 1381 W. Travis St. in La Grange and were able to quickly extinguish a electrical fire there. The fire started burning the building near where a cable enters the building from the nearby electric pole. There were no injuries.
