Vacation Bible School at Holy Cross finished up last week. The theme “Built by God” was a huge success. Children of all ages learned about Jesus, sang incredible songs, enjoyed delicious food and had an awesome time.

Benefit for Conway Whited Set Aug. 22, Activities Continue at Lost Pines

A benefit for Conway Whited, infant son of Justin and Amanda Whited, will be held Sunday, Aug. 22 at the Holy Cross picnic grounds. A drive thru meal will be served from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. consisting of pork steak, green beans, corn, homemade noodles and bread. Tickets are $12 each. Baked goods will be available for a free-will donation. Raffle tickets are also being sold for $20 each. The drawing will be held at 2 p.m. on the same day. Winners do not have to be present to win and it will be streamed via Facebook live. Fayetteville City-Wide Garage Sale Saturday

Fayetteville is preparing for its annual City-Wide Garage sale this Saturday, July 10, starting at 7 a.m. and lasting until around noon. Sales will be all around Fayetteville, with maps available at Orsak’s Cafe, the Fayetteville Store, and on the Square. The Lions Club will have a large booth on the Square benefiting scholarships. To help people find the event, Brian Simmons and Kevin Dunne placed the Fayetteville Chamber’s sign up on Highway 71, pictured above.

KJT Presents Donation to Sacred Heart Church

La Grange KJT Society No. 46 presented $500 to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in La Grange along with a matching $500 donation made possible by a KJT Home Office Covid Relief Grant. The La Grange KJT society qualified for the onetime $500 Covid Relief Grant due to their continued efforts and activities during 2020. Our hope is the donations will assist with any hardships inflicted on the parish during this difficult time. Receiving the donation on behalf of the parish was Fr. Brian Phillips. LG’s Daniel Lehmann Goes To Space Camp In Alabama

Daniel Lehmann of La Grange recently attended Space Camp at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center, home of Space Camp, Space Camp Robotics, Aviation Challenge and U.S. Cyber Camp. The Rocket Center is a Smithsonian Affiliate and NASA Marshall Space Flight Center’s Official Visitor Center.

AMEN Serves 157 Families During June

The AMEN Food Pantry continued to be busy in the month of June. 175 families were served for the month for a total of 453 individuals. A total of 131 volunteers for 255 hours served the pantry. A total of 3,372 pounds of food were donated.
