The League of Women Voters of South Central Texas celebrated Women’s History Month by honoring exceptional local women at its third annual Women Making History event Sunday at Casino Hall in La Grange. Eight outstanding women were selected from community nominations to receive recognition in categories including courage, determination, heroism, heritage, initiative, steadfastness, and vision. The celebration also featured presentations from three area high school students, who shared their award-winning essays about influential women from Texas history. Photos by Jeff Wick
