Why February is Special to Me

The author of this piece, Verlia Mosley-Rhodes, and her husband Gregory at their wedding, two Februaries ago.

February is the shortest month of the year but filled with great and significant opportunities for benevolence.

February is considered the “Love Month” and should give ample occasions to express Agape and Eros Love to all humanity.

February is Black History Month, a source of pride for the accomplishments and contributions of Black People in establishing the greatness of America. Black History Month sheds a spotlight on the hardships, struggles, and successes of Black Americans in Civil Rights, Politics, Health, Education, and in Sports. Black History Month also opens a dialogue for Love, Forgiveness, and Healing of Past Injustices.

My fondness for February is personal as well. It helped me choose the month to marry Gregory Rhodes (Jump the Broom…Google it!), my Sweetheart after knowing him for a year. This is our second year of appreciating and discovering what love is truly about. Happy February All.
