Weekend Traffic Stops Lead to Six Arrests

On Saturday, March 12, at approximately 7:50 p.m. Deputy Austin Moore initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle on Hwy. 90 in Flatonia. After further investigation the driver of the vehicle, David Roper 44, of Flatonia was arrested for a Felony theft warrant out of Hayes County. Moore arrested Hayes and he was released to jail staff without further incident.

On Sunday, March 13 at approximately 12:06 a.m. Deputy Jared Michalec conducted a traffic stop on Hwy. 71 just east of Lady Bird Loop. After further investigation, the driver identified as Carlos Torres 29, of Houston had an active warrant out of Harris County for Violation of a Protective Order. The female passenger identified as Marisol Jimenez 29, of Houston was found to be in possession of cocaine. Both the male and female were arrested and booked into the Fayette County jail.

On Sunday March 13, at approximately 9:40 p.m. Deputy Austin Moore initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle on US Hwy. 77 in La Grange. After further investigation, Billie Joe Ofczarzak 46, of Somerville was arrested for a second degree felony amount of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Christopher Rios 30, of Brenham, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Joe Kapchinski 39, of Somerville, were arrested for possession of methamphetamine, possession of THC oil and possession of drug paraphernalia. He additionally gave a false name and date of birth and was charged with Failure to Identify Fugitive from Justice. Moore arrested Kapchinski for two active felony warrants out of Brazos County.
