Walhalla EEA Club Meets

The Walhalla Extension Education Association Club (EEA) met on Monday, Jan. 27 at 2:30 p.m. at the Fayette County Ag Building.

After initial openings and reports, club members discussed voting delegates for the upcoming Spring District 11 EEA Conference to be held on April 10 in Victoria. Selected as delegates were Donna Burton, Lila Garlin, Vivian Krenek, and Janice Alexander.

Memberswerealsoreminded about the 2025 “Best Little Quilt Show” which will be held Feb. 21-22, and the Fayette County Junior Livestock Show which will be March 27-29.

The Nettie Mae Freudenberg EEA scholarship application forms have been sent to the local school districts and are to be turned in by April 1, judging by the Scholarship Committee. Janice Alexander presented an educational program “AHealthier Future.” The February program will be “The Quilt Code of the Underground Railroad.”

The next Walhalla Club meeting will be on Monday, Feb. 24 at 2:30 p.m. in room 107 at the Fayette County Ag Building, 255 Svoboda Lane. Interested individuals are invited to attend. For information regarding the Fayette County Extension Education Association, call (979) 968-5831.
