Upcoming Parks Open House in La Grange Will Be About Broad Range of Amenities, Not Just a Pool
This Thursday the City of La Grange will be hosting a Parks Plan Open House Meeting Thursday June 26 at 5:30 p.m. at city hall for the public to provide input for the Parks, Recreation, Open Spaces, Trails Master Plan.
In Friday’s e-mail newsletter we detailed how the consideration for future city aquatics needs would be a focus of that meeting (an especially hot topic locally in the recent aftermath of the vote to demolish the old city pool).
But the scope of Thursday’s meeting will be more than just that.
While aquatics is a consideration in that plan, the meeting will cover a very broad range of Recreation Amenities, said Main Street Manager Caleb Parks.
In language about the Master Plan on the city’s website, the evolving plan is described as helping “maintain the city’s character, enhance the quality of life for its residents, and support future growth” and “serve as La Grange’s roadmap for the next 5 to 10 years, guiding decisions on recreation, land use, and community development. The City Council, Planning Board, and City Staff will use the plan to make important choices about parks, trails, and recreational facilities to ensure they meet the evolving needs of residents.”
