Two Hurt After Wreck in Mullins Prairie
Two people were hospitalized Thursday, Jan 30, following a wreck on FM 155 near Mullins Prairie.
The crash happened south of the big curve in Mullins Prairie just before the Williams Creek bridge. The male driver of a brown GMC Sierra pickup told first responders that a deer or a large dog ran across the road as he was heading south on FM 155. The driver said he swerved to avoid it and ended up in the ditch on the left side of the road. He was unable to stop before the front driver’s side of the pickup struck a tree. The pickup spun and came to rest facing east.
La Grange Volunteer Fire Department, Fayette County EMS, Fayette County Sheriff’s Office and Texas Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol responded. The driver suffered serious injuries. EMS transported him to Austin for hospital treatment. They also transported a passenger as a precaution due to some preexisting medical conditions. The Highway Patrol investigated the crash, but a report was not available in time for this publication.
