Trick or Treat
The annual Trick-Or-Treat on the Square in downtown La Grange is Thursday, Oct. 31, from 4-6 p.m. as local businesses and organizations will be handing out treats all around the courthouse square.
Remember your seniors this holiday season. Monument Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in La Grange invites the community to trick or treat at the nursing home. Stop by from 4-6 p.m. on Halloween and receive treats from nursing home residents. Come show off your costumes to our local seniors. Monument Hill is accepting donations, will have an angel tree for the holiday season, and is in need of volunteers. For more information, contact Sidney Bodine at (979) 966-8177.

Ministerial Alliance
St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church will host the 2024 Schulenburg Ministerial Alliance Thanksgiving Service on Nov. 17 at 6 p.m. Pastor David Thompson will preach, and other area ministers will be taking part. A brisket bar-bque meal will follow worship. Please bring a dish to share if you can, veggie or dessert, but mostly bring a nice appetite! All are welcome!

Beekeepers Association Meeting
The Fayette County Beekeepers Association (FaycoBeeks) will have their next meeting on Saturday, Nov. 2, at the Fayette County Agriculture Building in La Grange, located at 255 Svoboda Ln. For anyone interested in learning about beekeeping, there will be a Beekeeping 101 presentation, “Honey Bee Biology” from 4:30-5:30 p.m. A potluck dinner will follow, bring your favorite entrée, side or dessert to share. Afterwards, there will be a business meeting, and a presentation by Bill Baxter, Assistant Chief Apiary Inspector, with the Texas Apiary Inspection Service. This is a great opportunity for new beekeepers to meet with club members that can serve as mentors and advisors. Membership dues for 2024 are $25/year, individual or family. Membership is not required to attend meetings, FaycoBeeks welcomes all attendees and encourages beekeepers and their families to join. FaycoBeeks meet the first Saturday of every month. Turkey and Dressing to Go
Turkey and dressing and all the trimmings catered by Peters BBQ will be served on Thursday, Nov. 7 from 5-6:30 p.m. Drive thru only at the SPJST Hall in Fayetteville. Advance tickets are $15 a plate. The La Grange Band Booster Club will have a drive-thru meal Thursday, Nov. 14 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. a the La Grange High School. The meal will consist of fried chicken, twice baked potato, corn on the cob, green beans, roll and cherry cobbler. Plates are $14.
