Train Derails in Fayetteville

A Union Pacific (UP) locomotive came off the tracks in Fayetteville Friday morning.

The incident happened around 10 a.m. UP spokesperson Robynn Tysver said a locomotive derailed in the upright position. The train blocked the intersection of Franklin St. and Scott St. (FM 1291) while UP personnel got the engine back on the tracks.

No one was injured, and no hazardous materials were involved. Tysver said the incident is under investigation.
