Traffic Stops Result in Arrests of Four
Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that Fayette County Deputies made several arrests following traffic stops over the weekend.
On Friday, June 3 Deputy Jared Michalec stopped a vehicle on US 290 westbound near Hills Rd. After further investigation, the driver identified as Markieth Bolen, 30, of Del Valle, was found to be in possession of approximately 11.85 ounces of marijuana and a Glock 9 mm handgun. Bolen was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana and Unlawful Carry of a Weapon.
On Saturday, June 4, at approximately 12:19 a.m. Sgt. Ryan Meagher stopped a vehicle on Interstate 10 eastbound near mile marker 668. The driver, identified as Caden Holder, 19, of Pearland was wanted out of Montgomery County for Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child, a felony warrant with full extradition. Holder was arrested on the warrant.
Shortly after 2:29 a.m. Deputy Michalec stopped another vehicle on N. Horton St. near East Oak St. in La Grange. The driver of the vehicle, identified as Kara Matlock, 52, of La Grange, was found to be in possession of methamphetamine. Matlock was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance.
On Saturday, June 4, at 10:08 p.m. Deputy Orlando Buitron stopped a vehicle on SH 71 west near Lady Bird Loop. The driver identified as Nithin Kakulavaram, 24, of Austin, was found to be in possession of cocaine. Kakulavaram was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance.
