Traffic Stop Leads To Stolen Polaris RZR
Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reports on Monday, Jan. 12, around noon, drug interdiction investigator David Smith conducted a traffic stop on I-10 W/B near the 661 mile marker for a traffic violation on a 2006 grey GMC 3500 dually pulling a trailer with a white 2022 Polaris RZR on it. After contact with the driver and further Investigation it was discovered the Polaris RZR on the trailer was entered as stolen. The driver was a contracted driver with no knowledge that the Polaris was reported stolen out of Jonesboro, Ark. Assisting Smith was Deputy James Ulbig, Flatonia P.D. Officer Trey Tunis and Fayette County Narcotic Officer. The Polaris was taken to a local wrecker yard for storage and the contracted transport driver released. The Investigation is ongoing process for Arkansas authorities.
