The League of Women Voters of South Central Texas, in partnership with the Fayette County Elections Office, will host a “Get Voter Ready” open house on Tuesday, August 25, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Fayette County Elections Office, 275 Ellinger Rd., La Grange.

The event follows the League’s Aug. 8 Day of Action, which brought voter education to libraries in five counties as part of a nationwide effort marking the anniversary of the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

Community members are invited to stop by during the two-hour window to register to vote or get answers to election- related questions. Staff and League volunteers will be on hand to help residents check their voter registration status, confirm their address is current, and learn about accepted forms of ID, vote-bymail eligibility, and key dates for the November 3 General Election.

The event will also cover early voting locations and times, Election Day polling locations, curbside voting, Spanish-language ballots, voting rights for those in jail or with completed felony sentences, and how to request assistance at the polls.

The event is free and open to the public. No appointment

is necessary. For more information, contact the Fayette County Elections Office at (979) 968-6563 or the League of Women Voters of South Central Texas at (512) 4971561.
