La Grange Hosts Regional Citizens Police Academy Meeting August 1
The La Grange Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association (LGCPAAA) also known as Citizens on Patrol, recently hosted the Texas CPAAA Region 3 Quarterly Meeting at the La Grange Fire Department meeting room on Aug. 1.
The meeting was held to allow other CPAAA’s to interact with each other and share information and ideas for their groups. A guest speaker is usually present at these meetings for educational purposes. This meeting’s guest speaker was District 18 Senator Lois Kolkhorst. She spoke on current topics relating to law enforcement and citizens of this great state of Texas.
Other dignitaries in attendance were City of La Grange Mayor Jan Dockery, and Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Louis Gabler.
Region 3 covers an area from Minard and Kimble Counties on the west side to Kerr and Comal Counties area on the south side, Fayette to the east up to Cherokee County around to Erath County on the north side, 45 counties total.
LGCPAA is always seeking new members. Meetings are on the second Tuesday of the month at the City of La Grange Municipal Courtroom behind the La Grange Police Department located at 243 S. College in La Grange, any resident of Fayette County age 18 and up is eligible for membership. Membership forms can be found online at www. lagrangecpaaa.org.
