Tori Newton Named Overall Grand Champion at Junior Food Challenge

Numerous Fayette County 4-H members competed in the San Antonio Livestock Show and Rodeo Food Challenge Contest on Thursday, Feb. 10.

In the Junior Division, Tori Newton placed first in the Healthy Dessert Category and Tatum Fritsch placed second in the Side Dish Category. Tori competed in the Final Challenge and was the Overall Grand Champion Junior Food Challenge Contestant.

Logan Poncik and Taylyn Newton also competed in the Junior Division.

Mackenzie Poncik competed in the Senior Division.

Food Challenge participants receive a list of ingredients and have 40 minutes to create a dish. They present their dish to judges are scored on preparation, serving size, food safety concerns, nutritional value and cost.
