Thumann And K9 Kolt Locate Controlled Substance, Weapons During Traffic Stop
Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reports on Tuesday, Sept. 17 around 2:30 p.m. Drug Interdiction Sgt. Randy Thumann and his K-9 “Kolt” conducted a traffic stop on US Hwy. 290 westbound near Deer Haven Rd. on a 2016 Cadillac Escalade for a traffic violation occupied by two males.
Upon contact with the driver a strong odor of Marijuana was detected coming from the vehicle. After a probable cause search of the vehicle Thumann located over a pound of marijuana, several Oxycodone pills, Promethazine, and multiple marijuana vape pens.
Both individuals were in possession of loaded hand guns which Thumann removed and secured. The driver was identified as 22 yr. old Eduardo Pastrana and the passenger as 22 yr. old Nicholas Damien Galicia, both of Houston.
Assisting at the scene was Deputy Seth Nagle. Both subjects were transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center and charged with felony marijuana possession, felony possession of controlled substances, and unlawfully carrying of a weapon.
