Thousands Flock to Ammannsville
Picnic season is in full swing here in Fayette County. The Ammannsville Church Picnic took place on Fathers Day Sunday, June 21. A big crowd packed the KJT Hall for a delicious meal of Ammannsville-style fried chicken and sausage. Mark Halata and Texavia provided music early in the afternoon, followed by the Czechaholics. Lots of folks enjoyed the breeze under the shade of the pecan trees on the picnic grounds. There are plenty of other church picnics taking place in the coming weeks. The Plum Feast at Sts. Peter and Paul Church in Plum takes place this Sunday, June 28. The St John Picnic south of Schulenburg takes place on July 4. And the following day, Sunday, July 5, the Dubina Picnic will takes place at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Church.
