Progressive Health of Fayette Provides Update on LG Hospital Reopening Efforts

Progressive Health of Fayette would like to provide clarification regarding the ongoing efforts to reopen the hospital and address questions surrounding the timeline and funding of the project.

Progressive Health of Fayette is actively working toward reopening the hospital and restoring access to local healthcare services for the Fayette community. While the process has taken longer than initially anticipated, significant work continues behind the scenes to ensure the facility meets all applicable state requirements before reopening.

No taxpayer dollars are being used to fund the reopening efforts. The costs associated with the project are being undertaken by Progressive Health as part of its commitment to bringing healthcare services back to the community.

Reopening a hospital is a complex process that requires extensive due diligence, regulatory review, licensing, compliance, staffing, facility preparation, and coordination with state agencies. Because Progressive Health of Fayette is being completely reopened, the process requires the facility to work through the appropriate and extensive requirements with the State of Texas before patient care can safely and legally resume.

Progressive Health understands that members of the community are eager to see the hospital reopen and recognizes the importance of providing timely updates. However, it is equally important that the hospital does not rush the process at the expense of meeting state requirements or ensuring the facility is properly prepared to care for patients.

“Our team understands the importance of this hospital to La Grange and the surrounding communities, and we share the community’s desire to see it reopen,” said Dani Dominguez of Progressive Health of Fayette. “There is substantial work taking place to meet the regulatory and licensing requirements necessary to reopen the emergency room, surgery suite, and a new rural health clinic, including ensuring each area meets current state and federal guidelines. Because the hospital’s license was surrendered when the facility previously closed, there is no grandfathering process available. As a result, the hospital must go through the regulatory process as though it were a new facility. We understand the community’s desire to see the hospital reopen and are continuing to work diligently with state and regulatory agencies to complete each required step. While certain aspects of the timeline are outside of our direct control, we remain fully committed to moving the project forward and bringing healthcare services back to the Fayette community.”

Progressive Health is conducting the necessary due diligence and working closely with the appropriate state officials throughout the process. The organization will continue to provide updates as additional milestones are reached and information becomes available.
