Pure Country 4-H Members Recognized
The annual Fayette County 4-H banquet was recently held on Aug. 9 at Casino Hall in La Grange. Pins and awards were presented. Pure Country 4-H Club had several members from the Ellinger area in attendance.
Shared Lutheran Ministry Pastor Jen will lead service in Ellinger on Sunday, Aug. 16. St. John in Ellinger will have Breakfast Church on Sunday, Aug. 23 in the fellowship hall and will watch the prerecorded service.
Sunday School will begin on Sept. 13 from 3-5 p.m. in Rutersville. This is for children Pre-K-Sixth grade. Sunday will be the first Sunday of the month with a couple of exceptions throughout the year.
Confirmation will begin on Sept. 20 at St. John in Rutersville at 11:15 a.m. This is for 6th, 7th, and 8th graders who are ready to learn about their faith and the gift of baptism.
Ellinger has worship every Sunday at 8 a.m. with communion.
St. Mary’s Catholic Church The 76th annual bazaar will be Sunday, Aug. 23 at the Chamber Hall in Ellinger. There will be a drive through and dine in fried chicken and sausage meal beginning at 10:30 a.m. for $15 a plate. The grand prize of the raffle is a $5000 VISA card along with 47 other prizes. The silent auction begins at 9 a.m. and the live action at 1:30 p.m. Live music by The Bandits featuring Tim Kulhanak is from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Ten percent of the proceeds will be donated to outreach efforts.
St. Mary’s Catholic Church Mass is Sunday at 8 a.m.
Brethren Church
Fayetteville Brethren Church has services the second, third, and fourth Saturdays of each month at 10 a.m. Other services are at Industry Brethren on the second, third and fourth Saturdays at 5 p.m., Wesley Brethren on Sundays at 9 a.m. and Nelsonville Brethren on Sundays at 10:15 a.m. Rev. Mike Groseclose leads all the services.
Ellinger Hermann Sons Life
The Hermann Sons Life will meet on Monday, Aug. 17 at 6 p.m. at the Ellinger Fire Station.
Ellinger Chamber
The Chamber will host a Mahjong and Mingle event. Come play Mahjong on Sunday, Aug. 30 from 1-6 p.m. $20 per person and you need a group of 4 to sign up. 1 person within the group needs to bring the complete set to play with and everyone is asked to bring an appetizer. Wear your best Mahj attire and all levels of players are welcomed. Door prizes will be offered throughout the event. To register or if you have questions, email ellingermahj@ yahoo.com.
