Texas Exes Event Here March 1

The Fayette County Chapter of Texas Exes is hosting its Annual Independence Day Celebration and Scholarship Fundraiser on Saturday, March 1, from 11:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. at the Round Top Festival Institute, located at 248 Jaster Road in Round Top.

This family-friendly event features a program of activities, including a fried chicken lunch, beverages, a silent auction, and a tour of the Festival Institute.

The featured speaker is James “Doc” Ayres. He is a Professor Emeritus at the University of Texas, and the founding director of Shakespeare at Winedale, an immersive UT summer program which brings students to rural Fayette County to study and perform Shakespeare.

RSVP is required by Feb. 27 by contacting Veronica Muhlstein at (512) 971-5189. Tickets are priced at $50 per person, with children aged 12 and under admitted free. Tickets can be purchased in advance by Venmo (Fayette County Texas Exes @FCTXEXES1) or at the door with cash, check, credit card or square.
