Teen Crossing Highway After Fair Hit by Vehicle

A pickup struck a local teenager walking across US 77 Sunday night, Aug. 31, after the Fayette County Fair. The accident happened near the intersection of US 77 and Fairgrounds Rd.

According to a report from La Grange Police, a group of approximately four teens left the Fair and crossed the highway when the accident happened.

A pickup pulling a trailer was heading north on US 77 and struck one of the teens. Police said the pickup had the right of way. The pickup was travelling approximately 40 miles per hour when it struck the teen. Police said the teen appeared to have suffered from several broken bones.

Fayette County EMS reported transporting the injured patient by ambulance to St. David’s South Austin Medical Center in stable condition.
