The driver of an SUV escaped serious injury Friday after her vehicle struck a barricade and rolled over on SH 159 Friday.

The crash happened around 3:30 pm. Aug. 2 on a bridge near the Jersey Barnyard north of La Grange. Trooper Louis Gabler with the Texas Highway Patrol investigated the accident. The driver, 38-year-old Hannah Dittrich of Shiner, was heading south on SH 159 in a blue Nissan Rogue.

Gabler said a distraction inside the vehicle caused Dittrich to veer off the road. The Nissan struck a waterfilled barricade at the beginning of the bridge. The vehicle rolled over onto the passenger side and came to rest in the middle of the bridge.

Dittrich was able to get out of the vehicle on her own. Fayette County EMS responded and treated the driver at the scene. She declined hospital transport. La Grange Volunteer Fire Department and Fayette County Sheriff’s Office also assisted at the scene.
