Strength from a Common Bond

To the editor:

Dear Virginia Appleman, You recently wrote a Letter to the Editor in which you identified yourself as a Democrat and asked “Why do you hate me?”

I have not seen a reply to your plaintive query. And I certainly don’t have the answer. But I have experienced the same sense of isolation for the same reason, and I have found solace in seeking out like-minded people who share the values of honor, integrity, and kindness.
