Stanzel Museum Announces Dale Kirn Summer STEM Series

Get ready for a summer full of learning, exploration, and adventure at the first-ever Dale Kirn Summer STEM Series, featuring the incredible Science Heroes and the Lone Star Flight Museum. This summer, kids and teens of all ages will have the chance to dive into the fascinating world of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) at the Old Stanzel Factory Building in Schulenburg.

Taking place from Monday, June 30 to Wednesday, July 3, the Dale Kirn Summer STEM Series offers a variety of hands-on activities and engaging workshops designed to inspire the next generation of innovators, scientists, and engineers. Here’s what you can expect from this actionpacked event: Monday, June 30: Science Heroes Presents the “Adventure of the Missing Color”, 10-10:40 a.m. for ages 3-5; 11-11:40 a.m. for ages 6-12; 1-2 p.m. for ages 13-19 (Experiment Lab) In the Adventure of the Missing Color, Science Heroes will take young participants on a fun and interactive journey exploring the science behind colors, light, and how they appear in our world. Kids will engage in exciting experiments, learning through play and discovery.

Teens can also participate in the Experiment Lab, where they’ll have the chance to conduct their own experiments and deepen their understanding of STEM concepts.

Tuesday, July 1: Lone Star Flight Museum - Adventures of Aviation; 9 a.m.-12 p.m. for ages 8-12.

The Lone Star Flight Museum will offer a fascinating look at the principles of flight. Participants will learn how planes fly, explore the history of aviation, and engage with flight simulators for a handson experience that’s sure to inspire future aviators.

Wednesday, July 3: Lone Star Flight Museum - The Evolution of Flight; 9 a.m.-12 p.m. for ages 13-19 On the final day, older campers will dive into the history and development of flight. From the Wright brothers to modern jet technology, this workshop will explore how aviation has evolved over the years. Flight simulators will be available for hands-on experiences, allowing participants to “pilot” their own virtual aircraft.

Throughout the event, there will be free play exploration opportunities for younger attendees, including hands-on STEM activities like building with Legos, experimenting with blocks, and conducting ramp science. The art room will also be available for creative minds to explore various art media and let their imaginations run wild.
