Stanzel Family Foundation Celebrates 2024-2025 Grant Recipients Making a Difference

The Stanzel Family Foundation is thrilled to announce its 2024-2025 grant recipients, continuing its mission to empower local organizations that strengthen the communities of Schulenburg and Weimar. This year, $150,000 in funding has been awarded to eight exceptional organizations, each driving meaningful change and creating a lasting impact in their communities.

Habitat for Humanity

This grant supports Fayette County Habitat for Humanity’s (FCHH) Neighborhood Revitalization Project, which focuses on improving home safety and addressing emergency repairs for local families. Through initiatives like repairing doors, exterior lighting, and water heaters, as well as removing hazards and addressing fire safety, the project ensures safer living conditions.

Senior Connections

This grant supports Senior Connections, a vital resource for active seniors 55+ in Fayette, Lavaca, and Colorado counties. Senior Connections offers programs that promote healthy aging through social interaction, mental stimulation, and nutritious meals. These services are provided at no cost to seniors on fixed incomes, helping them stay engaged and active.

The Bugle Boy Foundation

This grant supports the Bugle Boy Foundation’s outreach programs, bringing the healing power of music to those unable to attend concerts. The Foundation organizes performances at Fayette County’s assisted living, nursing homes, and hospice care facilities, offering joy and connection to residents, families, and staff. It also funds songwriting workshops led by Terri Hendrix and Lloyd Maines for And Then A New Day clients, encouraging creativity and confidence. Through these efforts, the Bugle Boy Foundation enriches the lives of Fayette County residents and promotes music education in the community.

Fayette Community Foundation

This grant supports two key initiatives of the Fayette Community Foundation (FCF). The Rural Nonprofit Network Group (RNNG) Educational Series helps local nonprofits strengthen their capacity through professional development in areas such as resource development, program collaboration, and impact measurement. The Red Door Fund for Mental Health and the Green Door Fund for Workforce Development and Education, are two community- led funds that address local crises and close opportunity gaps.

Fayette County Community Theatre

This grant supports the Fayette County Community Theatre (FCCT) which enriches, educates, and entertains the community through high-quality theatrical productions and educational opportunities. FCCT has experienced significant growth in recent years. This funding will allow FCCT to continue expanding its programming and outreach efforts.

Turtle Wing Foundation

This grant supports Turtle Wing Foundation (TWF) which focuses on helping children and individuals with learning challenges. Turtle Wing Foundation will use the grant to continue providing vital services such as early intervention, supplemental programs, and community education in the Schulenburg and Weimar areas.

Boys and Girls Clubs of Champion Valley

This grant supports the ongoing operations of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Champion Valley (BGCCV), a community- based youth development organization. BGCCV promotes the physical, social, educational, cultural, character, and leadership development of local youth, with a special focus on those who need it most.

And Then A New Day

This grant supports, And Then A New Day which provides meaningful work, social, and life opportunities for young adults on the autism spectrum or with learning challenges. Funding will sustain key roles and help expand services. This will enable the organization to meet the growing demand for its programs and help more young adults successfully transition into the workforce.

In addition to these eight recipients, the Stanzel Family Foundation proudly supported three organizations earlier this year: Arts for Rural Texas (ARTS), Alliance for College and Career Student Success in South-Central Texas (ACCSS), and Colorado County Habitat for Humanity (CCHFH).
