The sixth graders from St. Rose of Lima Catholic School in Schulenburg enjoyed a wonderful field trip to the Texas Czech Heritage & Cultural Center in La Grange on Tuesday, Oct. 1. They enjoyed learning about Czech traditions, the language, and culture. After touring the TCHCC Main Building, Museum, Library, and Wallachian Belfry, they toured the Czech Music Museum and SPJST Hall. Then they enjoyed eating some famous homemade czech-style chicken noodle soup, sandwich, kolache, crackers and bread. Closing out the day, students toured the Czech Village, observed a working printing press, shelled and grinded corn, and finally watched a hay press and Sawmill run. What a fabulous day it was.
