St. Peter and Zion Lutheran Church to Host Rev. Susan Briner Sunday

The Rev. Susan J. Briner, Bishop of the ELCA Southwestern Texas Synod, will be guest preacher at communion services on Sunday, April 27 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, West Point (8:45 a.m.) and Zion Lutheran Church, Moulton (10:45 a.m.). These two congregations are partner churches with three other congregations in the shared ministry (TCCM) serving Colorado, Fayette and Lavaca Counties. Pastor Herb Beyer, Lead Pastor for the Tri-County Cooperative Ministries ELCA, will preside at both services. Bishop Briner will also be present at the Moulton congregation’s annual picnic following worship. Fun activities are also planned for youth and adults.

Briner was elected Bishop of the Southwestern Texas Synod in 2018, and elected to a second term in 2024. Prior to serving as a pastor, she worked in the telecommunications industry for 15 years. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science from Duke University and a Master of Divinity Degree from Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary in Columbia, S.C.
