Jessica and Brent Taylor, along with their three boys and five pets have recently joined the Fayetteville community. Their youngest boy just entered FISD and the two oldest are playing football at La Grange High School. The family relocated here from the Richmond/Fulshear area.
“We’ve been coming out to this area for about 15 years. Our friends that have had family roots here for decades moved their families here so they can live on their property full-time. We talked about doing the same for a long time and we’re finally here,” mentioned Jessica. “We first moved from the Heights to Fulshear, wanting to check out what living in a smaller community would be like. It was initially a beautiful rural area. But with the significant growth spurt, it no longer met our needs.”
The couple is experimenting with regenerative farming. They use intensive grazing management, native seeds and grasses for prairie restoration, and water conservation practices. Brent is slowly transitioning from a consultant to a land steward. Jessica runs a garden consulting business called Potter and Holland (Instagram: potterandhollanttx).
“We’re thrilled to be joining the community and to be able to give this quality of life to our family. It’s been on our bucket list for a long time.”
